Tattoo TV show round-up time !
Ink Master - Episode 03
Things boil over as the contestants start going at each other. Al Fliction, the winner picked in this week’s Skills Challenge, angered the other contestants who didn’t agree with what the judges saw. But seeing as one of the judges is Dave Navarro - I doubt that anyone sees the world how he does (HINT: Quaaludes + black-tar heroin)
Al is the second kind of contestant that I hate on reality tv shows = people who complain about other people complaining (I fully understand the irony of me complaining about someone who complains about people complaining - but still) Constantly saying “There’s the door” doesn’t make you the right person in almost every situation.
The Tattoo Challenge of “Black & Grey” ended with a mixed bag to say the least. Bili Vegas (where do these people get these names?) was randomly selected for another full head tattoo, but the client couldn’t pick a final design and they spent a whole hour (from the 5-hour time limit) figuring it out, only to eventually put the tattoo on the client’s thigh. While the contestant’s tattoos were being critiqued, things kicked off back at the HQ when Al butted heads with Bili and Tommy, with Al and Tommy having a heated back-and-forth about work ethic, or something? I didn’t really care. However I do respect Tommy. He keeps his mouth shut and his head down (something every contestant should do in every “reality tv show” ever)
I’m finding that while I haven’t picked who I want to win the show yet - I have already began to be nonplussed by some people and actively not like others.
In the end - Al Fliction was eliminated, being the first person to both win the Skills Challenge and then get thrown out.
NY Ink - Season 2, Episode 06
This episode started in exactly the most perfect way = the actual tattoo artists were messing around in the shop, with Billy, Tommy and Tim trying on the ladies Wooster Street Social clothing. While Ami wasn’t too happy that they were stretching out the merchandize, everybody was having a good time, the “on screen talent” was laughing. It was good tv. This then lead straight into Ami asking Billy if he was ready for the client who was arriving in an hour or so. Billy, being the “apprentice” in this situation, complained about Ami always breathing down his neck about work.
Eventually, some bad words were spoken between them and Billy stormed out. He then met up with Wooster Street Social ”outcast” Chris Torres, asking if the offer to join up with him was still on the table.
The girls, Megan Massacre and Jessica, secretly setup Robear (the gay floor manager and annoying diva) with an online dating profile. Their plan was quickly discovered and a “speed date” type scenario with 3 eligible men was arranged, although I honestly didn’t care. Unless it has something to do with the actual shop, I don’t think that it even really matters and it shouldn’t be a “story-like” piece taking up precious air-time.
It’s like if an episode of Friends used an entire 15 minutes on what the ugly Naked Guy he ate for breakfast. Sure he’s on the show, but he’s not supposed to get that much attention.
Billy finally returned and spoke with Ami to seemingly patch up their friendship, but end the apprenticeship. Something happens next week, I’m not really bothered.

But what is someone asks the question “Where is the exit?” I think it would be the right thing to say in that situation.
